    THE GENESIS OF K.V.

    1. KV .D.G.Q.A was established on 31-10-1984 in the D.G.Q.A complex.
    2. It was started with 150 students from classes I to V
    3. The school was shifted to the new building on 20.08.1997
    4. The school premises is totally of 8 Acres of which 5 is from Defence Estate office and 3 from D.G.Q.A authorities.
    5. The land is on lease for 99 Years.

    IMPORTANT MILESTONES OF GROWTH

    1. KV .D.G.Q.A was born on 31-10.1984.
    2. It was started with 150 students from classes I to V in the D.G.Q.A complex.
    3. The school was shifted to the own building on 20.08.1997.
    4. 2 section school grew into a 3 section school.
    5. XII – C.B.S.E. closed in the year 1999.
    6. XII Std. Tamil Nadu state board was followed from the year 2003 to 2007.
    7. State Board was closed and XII C.B.S.E. was re-started in the year 2006-07.
    8. Humanities Stream was introduced in the year 2007-08.
    9. In Jan 2006, Audio Visual room was built as part of 10 additional classrooms.
    10. In April 2006, second computer lab was started with 20 computers with internet connection.
    11. In April 2008, third computer lab was started with 10 computers with internet connection.
    12. In March 2009, eight computers were purchased for labs, library, HM room, exam room and office.
    13. n Feb 2011, nine computers were purchased to be used in Labs and for teachers for CCE work.

    GRADUAL YEAR WISE EXPANSION IN CLASSES

    1. The school started in the year 1984
    2. There were only five classes of 2 sections each
    3. First X class appeared for board in March 1990
    4. 3rd section of all classes was started from the year 2002
    5. First XII batch went to the boards in March 1992
    6. 3rd section of VIII student was reintroduced in the year 2007
    7. Higher Secondary was reintroduced in June 2002 with TN state board syllabus
    8. Senior Secondary of CBSE syllabus was reintroduced in June 2006
    9. Humanities Group was introduced in June 2007
    10. In 2011-12 session 3rd section of IX student was introduced.
    11. In 2012-13 session 3rd section of X student was introduced.

    DETAILS OF PREVIOUS AND NEW CAMPUS

    1. Previously the school was running in the building of DGQA complex
    2. It shifted to the new premises of 8 acres (5 is from Defence Estate office and 3 from D.G.Q.A authorities.)
    3. The land is under lease for 99 years.
